Latin American constitutionalism and the centennial of the Mexican Constitution

Rector Juan Carlos Henao, and Professors Magdalena Correa and Humberto Sierra will discuss Latin American constitutionalism contributions, with European and Latin American researchers.

On May 4-5, 2017, the Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona will hold an international seminar on the contributions of Latin American constitutionalism to the general theory of Constitutional Law.

The academic meeting, bringing together researchers, judges, and professors from Europe and Latin America, will be attended by Juan Carlos Henao, Externado University Rector, together with Professors Magdalena Correa and Humberto Sierra.

Additionally, within the framework of the one-hundred anniversary of the Mexican Constitution, a critical review will be made of the strengths, problems, and gradients of the Magna Carta, signed in Querétaro, in 1917.

The seminar, organized in plenary sessions, will also address topics such as types of Latin American constitutionalism, the Constitutionalization of International Law, and the internationalization of Constitutional Law in Latin America.

Lastly, the relationship between the Inter-American System for the Protection of Human Rights and Constitutionalism in Latin America will be discussed.
