In this course students will learn to be more effective and creative communicators in English through psychodrama, conscious movement and creative writing. It will also help them to develop valuable life skills (e.g., critical thinking, problem solving, responsibility, and teamwork). It seems obvious to say that drama, theatre and the performing arts improve verbal and nonverbal communication, but is worth stating that this benefits people through their life. It improves vocal projection, articulation, tone of speech and expression. It also develops listening and observation skills. Through psychodrama and creative activities (theatre performances and creating short stories) students will engage in creating team projects which are both fun and will contribute to their lives and goals.
Performing arts exercises and psychodrama are very important tools for students to learn to express themselves and be more confident and enthusiastic for taking on new challenges. Also, it will encourage them to collaborate combining the abilities of all participants taking part in improvisation work, creative writing and preparation of a final presentation.
