Noel Grandmaison
English teacher
Noel is from Rhode Island, the smallest state in the USA. He holds a BS in International Business from Northeastern University in Boston, MA, a TEFL certificate and is a certified yoga teacher as well. He also studied at ICADE in Madrid and worked for a time in Barcelona. He spent 5 years working in the international business department of a multinational company in Cambridge, MA, before unexpectedly moving to Bogotá in 2010 and becoming an English teacher. Aside from teaching he has also started small businesses here in Colombia, including a cookie company.
He loves traveling and has been to 28 countries (and counting!) but his favorite country is Colombia which he happily calls home. He likes to read, cook, play drums, go hiking in the mountains, and spends a lot of his vacation time visiting various indigenous communities in Colombia and around South America. Having gone through the process of learning a second language (Spanish), he appreciates the effort it takes, the value it affords in the world, and strives to bring a practical and creative approach to the classroom.
