UExt Summer University 2022, Global Development: Facing the Future with hope

La Universidad Externado de Colombia y su Dirección de Internacionalización y Relaciones Externas invitan a participar en este programa, en el que, del 18 al 29 de julio, visitantes académicos internacionales y estudiantes internacionales y locales podrán interactuar a través de cursos académicos en inglés y actividades culturales.

La movilidad académica internacional y la colaboración académica han adquirido un papel protagónico en la internacionalización de la educación superior en los últimos años, más especialmente en los tiempos actuales donde la incertidumbre, la desesperanza y la falta de consenso, son más notorias.

En este sentido, la Universidad Externado de Colombia espera propiciar una serie de diálogos que contrasten reflexiones sobre los temas más imperiosos a abordar desde la academia y desde la mirada internacional; para ello, bajo el liderazgo de la Dirección de Internacionalización y Relaciones Externas, anuncia su UExt Summer University 2022, Global Development: Facing the Future with Hope.

El mundo se ha interesado más en el ‘desarrollo’ desde principios de la década del 2000, el término ha evolucionado y ha comenzado a analizarse bajo diferentes factores. En tiempos recientes, la academia y las organizaciones internacionales, han descubierto que algunos factores clave que afectan el ‘desarrollo’ son: equidad, justicia social, instituciones sólidas, acceso a la salud y la educación.

Sin embargo, el año 2020 afectó la visión de la humanidad sobre este tema y planteó algunas preguntas importantes sobre las visiones tradicionales del mismo, debido a la pandemia mundial, lo que hace necesario involucrar más factores y perspectivas para analizar este tema.

Para facilitar las conversaciones en torno al ‘desarrollo’, durante el UExt Summer University 2022 el análisis se enmarcará en torno a la agenda de la ONU para el ‘Desarrollo Sostenible’, originada en 2015, un plan de acción dirigido a la población, el planeta y el logro de la prosperidad y la paz.

  • Sustainable Tourism Planning and Destination Marketing and Management.
  • Humanitarian Communication: discourse and power.
  • Interrelationship between Indigenous peoples, like minded local communities (IPLMLC) and their environment.
  •  Computer Science Accessible to All.
  • Four Pillars of Societal Change.
  • Environmental Management Accounting.
  • Use of digital tools in the processes of urban development and climate change mitigation.
  • Machine Learning for the Analysis of Text as Data.
  • Online bullying & harassment including cyberbullying, digital inequalities, & Online Violence Against Women (OVAW).

El Summer brindará excelentes experiencias interculturales tanto para estudiantes como para docentes y será susceptible de homologación por créditos académicos de la Universidad Externado de Colombia.

Nuestra institución tiene un programa de becas que cubren hasta el 90% para ser parte de esta experiencia de internacionalización en casa.

UExt Summer University 2022, Global Development: Facing the Future with hope

International academic mobility and scholar collaboration have acquired a leading role in the internationalization of higher education in recent years, more especially in current times where uncertainty, hopelessness, and lack of consensus are more noticeable.

In this regard, Universidad Externado de Colombia is looking forward to propitiating a series of dialogues that may tackle reflections upon the most imperious topics to be addressed from academia and by means of international points of view.

For this reason, our Institution, under the leadership of the DIRE, is pleased to announce its UExt Summer University 2022, Global Development: Facing the Future with Hope. UEXT Summer University is a program where international visiting scholars, international and local students may interact through academic courses in English and cultural activities from July 18 to 29, 2022.

The world has been taking more interest in Development since the early 2000s, the term has evolved and has started to be analyzed under different factors. Academia and international organizations have found out that some key factors that affect Development are: equity, social justice, strong institutions, access to health and education.

However, the year 2020 affected humanity’s view of Development and raised some important questions regarding traditional Development views due to the global pandemic, making it necessary to involve more factors and more perspectives to analyze this topic.

To facilitate the conversations around Development in the UExt Summer University 2022, the analysis will be framed around the UN agenda for Sustainable Development originated in 2015, a plan of action directed for the population, the planet and the achievement of prosperity and peace.

The Summer will have excellent cultural activities additionally, will be eligible for homologation for academic credits from Universidad Externado.

The Externado University has a scholarship program of up to 90% to be part of this in-house internationalization experience.
