Balance de participación del cuerpo docente y de la Biblioteca en la FILBo

En el marco de la Feria Internacional del Libro de Bogotá – FILBo, la Biblioteca de la Universidad Externado de Colombia en compañía de docentes de los diferentes programas académicos, realizaron la selección de material bibliográfico de interés para la comunidad externadista.

Después de dos años sin participar en la Feria Internacional del Libro, la Biblioteca asistió de manera presencial junto al equipo de trabajo integrado por docentes y bibliotecarios enlace a este encuentro, que permitió revisar, seleccionar y sugerir materiales pertinentes y de relevancia para esta unidad de apoyo académico.

“De la visita a la feria me parece muy interesante que todos participemos de ella, conociendo las nuevas editoriales, los nuevos textos, los libros, de hecho, nosotros estamos seleccionando una serie de libros para la Biblioteca, que esperamos que todos los estudiantes consulten”, afirmó el profesor José Ubaldo Díaz, miembro del consejo directivo de la Facultad de Contaduría Pública.

Durante las diferentes jornadas programadas en el marco del evento, los bibliotecarios enlace acompañaron a docentes de varias facultades, que participaban por primera vez en la visita a la feria y en la selección de material bibliográfico. Además de realizar la revisión, los docentes pudieron participar en una amplia agenda de actividades, charlas profesionales, conversatorios con autores, clubes de lectura, conciertos, lanzamiento de libros, entre otros.

El balance preliminar de la participación de los docentes de las unidades académicas y la Biblioteca en la FILBo es bastante positivo:

  • Días en la feria – 12

  • Facultades y Programas participantes – 38
  • Títulos seleccionados, disponibles en la colección – 653
  • Títulos nuevos solicitados en compra – 1065

En el momento que se reciban los materiales, se informará a los docentes enlace, cuando estos libros se encuentren disponibles en las colecciones para su consulta y préstamo.

“Agradecemos el apoyo y la participación de las unidades académicas y el criterio experto de los (as) docentes”, afirmo Pau Torres, director de la Biblioteca.

An Assessment of Participation of the Teaching Body and the Library in FILBo

In the frame of the International Book Fair in Bogota – FILBo, the Universidad Externado de Colombia Library in partnership with professors from different academic programs, selected bibliographic material of interest to the Externado community.

After two years without participating in the International Book Fair in Bogota, the Library was present together with the work team comprising professors and librarians linked to this event. This permitted reviewing, selecting, and suggesting pertinent and relevant materials for each academic support unit.

“Regarding the visit to the fair, I think it is very interesting that we all participated, getting to know the new publishing companies, and texts. In fact, we are selecting a series of books for the Library, which we hope all students will consult,” affirmed Professor José Ubaldo Díaz, member of the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Public Accounting.

During the different days programmed within the framework of the event, the liaison librarians accompanied professors from different faculties, who were participating for the first time in the visit to the fair, in the selection of bibliographic material. Besides the reviewing work, the professors participated in a wide agenda of activities, professional talks, conversations with authors, reading clubs, concerts, and book launches, among others.

The preliminary assessment of teacher participation from the academic units and the Library in FILBo is very positive:

  • Fair days – 12

  • Selected titles, available in the LibraryÂ’s collection – 653

Upon receipt of the materials, the liaison professors will be informed about when the materials will be available in the collections for consultation and loan.
