Visita académica del Decano de Ciencias Sociales y Humanas del Externado a la Unidad Central del Valle del Cauca

En el marco del convenio de cooperación académica celebrado entre la Unidad Central y el Externado se llevó a cabo una reunión entre el rector de la Unidad Central del Valle del Cauca -UCEVA, Juan Carlos Urriago Fontal, la doctora María del Pilar García Valdés decana de la Facultad de Ciencias Jurídicas y Humanísticas y el decano de la Facultad de Ciencias Sociales y Humanas de nuestra Casa de Estudios.

Este encuentro tuvo como propósito fortalecer las relaciones interinstitucionales entre la Universidad y la Facultad para seguir avanzando en temas de investigación, intercambio y proyección a la comunidad en las áreas de las ciencias humanísticas y de la neurociencia social.

En dicha reunión el decano presentó al rector Urriago Fontal un saludo en nombre del doctor Hernando Parra Nieto. También se refirió sobre la importancia y relevancia que tiene el desarrollo de proyectos de investigación en colaboración con la UCEVA, y de establecer otras estrategias que permitan ampliar los procesos de intercambio entre las dos Universidades y en particular para la Facultad de Ciencias Jurídicas y Humanísticas y la Facultad de Ciencias Sociales y Humanas.

Se espera esta reunión sea la posibilidad para que la facultad de Ciencias Sociales y Humanas del Externado tenga más presencia en las regiones por medio de las distintas unidades académicas que la componen, para así lograr convenios de cooperación y apoyo como el ratificado entre las dos instituciones.

The Dean of Social and Human Sciences of Externado de Colombia Makes an Academic Visit to the Central Unit of Valle del Cauca

In the frame of the cooperation agreement entered into between the Central Unit and Externado, the Rector of the Central Unit del Valle del Cauca (also called UCEVA), Juan Carlos Urriago Fontal, Dr. María del Pilar García Valdés (dean of the Faculty of Legal and Human Sciences), and the dean of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of our Casa de Estudios had a meeting

This gathering’s purpose was to strengthen the cross-institutional relations between the University and the Faculty to continue advancing in the areas of investigation, exchange, and community outreach on matters relating to human sciences and social neuroscience.

At that meeting, the Dean, passed on the greetings (on behalf of the Externado University Rector – Hernando Parra Nieto) to the Rector, Juan Carlos Urriago Fontal. Also, he referred to the importance and relevance of the development of joint investigation projects with UCEVA; and of establishing other strategies that allow for the expansion of the exchange processes between the two universities. In particular, for the Faculty of Legal and Human Sciences and the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences.

It is hoped that this event will open the possibility for the Externado’s Faculty of Social and Human Sciences to be present in the regions by means of the various academic units that comprise it. This is so that cooperation and support agreements – like the one ratified between the two institutions – are reached.
