Thought and Economic History
Description
The group prepares publishable papers that address various aspects such as the relationship between the institutional economy and mainstream economics, institutional issues in the work of great economists, Colombian economic thought, and the links between market and economic policy in history. It is classified in category B of Colciencias.

Research Lines
The areas of knowledge of the research lines are economic theory and economic thought. Their areas of application are education, public administration, industrial economy, and social welfare programs.
Economic theory
- Seeks to establish the fundamental principles that have encouraged economic thinking.
- Investigates the relationships between the market and the different agents involved.
- Discusses and analyses the different approaches to institutional analysis.
History of economic thought
- Aims to analyse the research programs of those thinkers who have generated new paradigms in economics, as well as the most recent schools.
- Places economic thought in the historical environment in which it occurs and seeks to analyse the way it is perceived by economists and statesmen.
Economic History
- Analyses the construction of economic institutions.
- Studies the state-market relationship at different historical moments.
- Examines the links between economic theory and economic policy.
