Externadistas, ganadores de becas de Apoyo para la Profesionalizaci�n de Artistas de la Secretar�a de Cultura, Recreaci�n y Deporte de Bogot�

Juan David Sarmiento, Mariacamila Vanegas y Cristi�n S�nchez, estudiantes de la Facultad de Estudios del Patrimonio Cultural, recibieron apoyo econ�mico para el desarrollo de sus proyectos de apropiaci�n, valoraci�n y significaci�n del Patrimonio Cultural.

La Beca de Apoyo para la Profesionalizaci�n de Artistas, convocada por la Secretaría de Cultura, Recreación y Deporte, ha entregado estímulos desde el 2018 para que estudiantes de mitad de carrera en adelante, de los campos de las artes, la gestión cultural y el patrimonio cultural, financien sus proyectos en favor del fortalecimiento de la cultura de la ciudad y del país.

En esta convocatoria, nuestros(as) tres representantes fueron elegidos(as) entre más de cien candidatos, gracias a la originalidad, relevancia e impacto de sus propuestas para la promoción y el afianzamiento de las relaciones entre los diversos tipos de patrimonio y las comunidades que interactúan con estos.

Juan David Sarmiento adelantará el proyecto titulado Atlas de conocimientos: saberes y oficios de construcción y navegación tradicional Wayúu en la baja y media Guajira colombiana a través del cual busca consolidar el primer atlas de dichos conocimientos que se han dado históricamente en la región. Para Juan David: es una oportunidad económica y académica para fortalecer y consolidar mejores productos que incentiven procesos de investigación co-participativa con y para las comunidades.

Por su parte, Mariacamila Vanegas propone el diseño y puesta en marcha de una página web que incluya una reconstrucción 3d del Monumento Héroes y sus transformaciones en el marco del estallido social durante el 2021, sumado a una serie de entrevistas a artistas que intervinieron el monumento durante el periodo de protestas: mi propósito es que la memoria del monumento no se pierda, pues es común que la desaparición de estos objetos o sitios genere su borramiento y olvido. Quiero que las personas puedan acceder de manera libre a ese contenido para que puedan entender las dinámicas sociales en torno al Monumento Héroes y su importancia para la historia del país, afirma Mariacamila.

Por último, Cristián Sánchez busca generar procesos de apropiación, realce y difusión de los diversos sitios de arte rupestre localizados en la Serranía de la Lindosa en los que se involucre de manera participativa y cooperativa a los habitantes de la región. Esta beca no sólo me apoya económicamente, sino que también da mayor alcance y difusión del proyecto a nivel local y regional para que todos y todas los colombianos y colombianas conozcamos y reconozcamos nuestro patrimonio nacional nos contó Cristián.

Desde la Universidad Externado de Colombia y la Facultad de Estudios del Patrimonio Cultural nos sentimos muy orgullosos(as) de su logro y tenemos la convicción de que sus proyectos contribuirán al conocimiento de nuestra riqueza cultural y patrimonial.

Externadistas: Winners of Support Scholarships for the Professionalisation of Artists of the Bogota Department of Culture, Recreation and Sport

Juan David Sarmiento, Mariacamila Vanegas and Cristi�n S�nchez, who are students in the Cultural Heritage Studies Faculties, received financial support for the development of projects of appropriation, valuation, and significance of Cultural Heritage.

The Support Scholarship for the Professionalisation of Artists organised by the Department of Culture, Recreation and Sport has granted incentives since 2019. It helps students of arts, and cultural and patrimonial heritage management, at mid-way point in their higher education studies, to finance their projects to strengthen the culture of the city and the country.

In the latest call for applications, our three representatives were selected from more than one hundred (100) candidates. This was thanks to the originality, relevance, and impact of their proposals for the promotion and strengthening of the relations between diverse types of patrimony and the communities that interact with them.

Juan David Sarmiento will take forward the project entitled �Atlas of Knowledge: Wayúu construction work and traditional navigation in the lower and medium Colombian Guajira [region]. Through this, he seeks to consolidate the first atlas of the knowledge that has been historically generated in the region. For Juan David, it is a financial and academic opportunity to fortify and consolidate better products to incentivise co-participatory investigation processes with and for the communities.

For her part, Mariacamila Vanegas proposes the design and implementation of a web page that contains 3D construction of the Heroes Monument (Monumento Héroes) and its transformation in the context of the social outburst in 2021. This is in addition to a series of interviews with artists that intervened in the monument during the protests: My aim is for the memory of the monument not to be lost, since it is common for the disappearance of these objects and places to generate their deletion and oblivion. I want people to freely access this content, so they can understand the social dynamics surrounding the Heroes Monument and its importance in the countrys history, affirmed Mariacamila.

Finally, Cristián Sánchez is seeking to generate appropriation, enhancement and dissemination processes of the diverse rock art places located in the Serranía de la Lindosa. Through these, he is looking to involve the regional community in a participatory manner. This scholarship not only supports me financially but also achieves greater reach and dissemination for all Colombian people to learn about and recognise our patrimonial heritage, said Cristián.

Universidad Externado de Colombia and its Faculty of Cultural Heritage Studies are enormously proud of these students achievement. We are convinced that their projects will contribute to the knowledge building of our cultural and patrimonial wealth.
