La Especialización en Contratación Internacional, Bogotá y Medellín, invita a la comunidad interesada a inscribirse al webinar que reúne los sectores líderes de la economía colombiana alrededor de los conflictos contractuales por vía del arbitraje internacional. Los invitamos a conocer el concepto de las voces más representativas de estos sectores en nuestro país.

El arbitraje internacional ha sid o ampliamente usado por operadores de diferentes sectores para resolver sus conflictos contractuales en el mundo entero. En este webinar analizaremos el uso de esta figura en algunos de los sectores económicos colombianos más relevantes, como los de hidrocarburos, telecomunicaciones, energético e infraestructura, con la ayuda de expertos en estas áreas y del arbitraje internacional.

Conferencistas: 

Mónica Jiménez

Secretaria general en Ecopetrol S.A. Es la secretaria corporativa de la junta directiva de Ecopetrol S.A. y también lidera la gestión de los asuntos corporativos de la compañía, lo cual incluye la dirección de las iniciativas de Gobierno Corporativo de Ecopetrol S.A. y su grupo empresarial, los programas de Responsabilidad Corporativa y el área de Comunicaciones Corporativas. Además, asesora a la compañía y a su grupo en temas estratégicos relacionados con arbitraje internacional.

La doctora Jiménez ha ejercido el Derecho tanto en Colombia como en Canadá y tiene amplia experiencia como litigante y secretaria en arbitrajes comerciales y de inversión bajo las reglas de la CCI, del CIADI y de la CNUDMI. Actualmente es miembro de la Corte Internacional de Arbitraje de la CCI.

Antes de su ingreso a Ecopetrol S.A., la experta vivió en Vancouver, Canadá, por más de 15 años. En ese periodo trabajó en Fasken Martineau, una firma de servicios integrales dedicada al arbitraje comercial y de inversión.

La conferencista invitada tiene una Maestría en Estudios de Desarrollo realizada en la London School of Economics and Political Science y obtuvo un título de posgrado en Responsabilidad y Daño Resarcible de la Universidad Externado de Colombia.

Diego Vélez

Gerente jurídico y de regulación de Internexa S.A., empresa perteneciente al Grupo ISA con más de 20 años de experiencia en los sectores energético y de telecomunicaciones. Es abogado de la Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana – Medellín y cuenta con MBA de la Westfield Business School y una especialización en Derecho de las Telecomunicaciones de la Universidad Externado de Colombia.

María Torres

Abogada de la Defensa Jurídica de la Agencia Nacional de Infraestructura – ANI, responsable de arbitrajes nacionales e internacionales. Egresada de la Universidad Externado de Colombia, con especialización en Contratación Internacional de la misma casa de estudios y LLM en Arbitraje Internacional de University of Miami School of Law.

Luis Ferney Moreno

Abogado experto en Derecho Minero Energético, PhD en Derecho, magister en Derecho Económico y especialista en Tributación, con más de veinticinco años de experiencia académica y profesional, con énfasis en Derecho Administrativo, Derecho de la Regulación, Derecho de los Servicios Públicos, Derecho Minero y Energético y Derecho de las Infraestructuras. Desde el año 1999 ha dirigido el Departamento de Derecho Minero Energético de la Universidad Externado de Colombia.

María Isabel Vanegas

Asesora Legal de Hidroituango; abogada de la Universidad de Antioquia; especializada en Derecho de los Negocios de la Universidad Externado de Colombia; certificado en Derecho de la Telecomunicaciones de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.

The Specialization in International Contracting, Bogotá and Medellín, invites the interested community to register for the webinar bringing together the leading sectors of the Colombian economy surrounding contractual conflicts through international arbitration. We invite you to learn the views of the most representative voices of these sectors in our country.

International arbitration has been widely used, all over the world, by operators from different sectors to resolve their contractual conflicts. In this webinar, with the help of experts in these areas and international arbitration, we will analyze the use of this figure in some of the most relevant Colombian economic sectors, such as hydrocarbons, telecommunications, energy, and infrastructure.

The event, organized by the Specialization in International Contracting Bogotá and Medellín, has opened registration.

Speakers: 

Mónica Jiménez

General Secretary of Ecopetrol S.A. She is the corporate secretary of Ecopetrol S.A. Board of Directors. Also, she heads the management of the company’s corporate affairs, including management of the Corporate Governance initiatives of Ecopetrol S.A. and its business group, the Corporate Responsibility programs, and the Corporate Communications area. Additionally, she counsels the company and its group on strategic issues relating to international arbitration.

Dr. Jiménez has practiced law in Colombia as well as Canada and has extensive experience as a litigator and secretary in commercial and investment arbitrations under ICC, ICSID, and UNCITRAL rules. Currently, she is a member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration.

Before joining Ecopetrol S.A., the expert lived in Vancouver, Canada, for more than 15 years. During that period, she worked at Fasken Martineau, a comprehensive services firm dedicated to commercial and investment arbitration.

The guest lecturer has a Master’s in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a postgraduate degree in Responsibility and Compensable Damage from the Externado de Colombia University.
