Club de lectura: “Constitucionalízate con la lectura”

El Instituto de Estudios Constitucionales “Carlos Restrepo Piedrahita”, el Departamento de Derecho Constitucional y la Sede Biblioteca “Carlos Restrepo Piedrahita” invitan a su club de lectura, ahora de forma virtual.

El espacio está diseñado para crear momentos de esparcimiento, entretenimiento, aprendizaje y diversión utilizando como canal la Historia Constitucional Colombiana.

En esta sesión virtual se abordará el tema el presidencialismo latinoamericano, con especial énfasis en la amplitud de los poderes o facultades del presidente de la república, sobre todo en momentos de crisis mundial como el que se está viviendo actualmente. Para tal efecto, se ha seleccionado un extracto del escrito “Imagen del presidencialismo latinoamericano: el héroe del barroco” del doctor Carlos Restrepo Piedrahita, texto que a pesar de haber sido escrito en los años 80 hoy continua vigente; allí el doctor Restrepo explica magistralmente la interrelación entre el presidencialismo y el movimiento cultural y artístico denominado Barroco.

La sesión del 28 de abril será la tercera sesión del semestre, y está abierta para todos los interesados.

Book Club: “Constitucionalízate con la lectura” (Constitutionalize yourself through Reading)

The “Carlos Restrepo Piedrahita” Institute for Constitutional Studies, the Constitutional Law Department, and the “Carlos Restrepo Piedrahita” Library invite the Externadista community to participate in the now, virtual, Book Club.

This space is designed to create a time for recreation, entertainment, learning, and enjoyment, channeled through Colombian Constitutional History.

The virtual session will address Latin American presidentialism, with particular emphasis on the breadth of the President’s powers or faculties, especially in times of global crisis, such as the one we are currently experiencing. For this purpose, we have selected an excerpt from the writing “Imagen del presidencialismo latinoamericano: el héroe del barroco” (Image of Latin American Presidentialism: the Hero of the Baroque) by Dr. Carlos Restrepo Piedrahita, a text that although written in the Â’80s, is still valid today. In his writing, Dr. Restrepo masterfully explains the interrelationship between presidentialism and the cultural and artistic movement called Baroque. All wishing to participate may register here.
