Enrique Low Murtra Seminar – Technical aspects and problems of exogenous information
Fecha: 8 de marzo de 2024
Hora: 7:30 am - 12:00 am
Aware of the importance of this issue, the Externadista Center for Tax Studies (CEEF), invites public and private sectors to participate in this program, under the ENRIQUE LOW MURTRA Seminar. The purpose is to analyze the normative and methodological support of exogenous information required, as well as its usefulness and applicable technical aspects.
The current economic deficit times caused by the Colombian States low income, the new tax reform (Law 1819 of 2016), and the high rate of evasion, compel the tax authority the challenge of increasing the level of revenues. Exogenous information is vital in this endeavor, as it is the proof for control processes. The manner in which such information is reported can be the difference in any discussion before the DIAN.
Exogenous information is the data individuals and organizations must submit periodically to the DIAN, according to the resolution issued – to comply with the constitutional duty of contributing to the State financing costs and investments (95-9 C.P.). This process allows the Tax Administration to perform the necessary studies and information cross-checks for proper tax control and compliance with other functions within its jurisdiction, including the commitments contained in tax agreements entered into by Colombia.
The issue lends itself to difficulties from a technological point of view. Reports are often presented in outdated or old-fashioned software, with information prepared in XML files, often resulting in a considerable amount of time wasted, since many do not have sufficient capabilities to perform the task more efficiently.
