Pieza del mes del Lux non occidat: la Bandera de la Humareda

La Universidad Externado de Colombia y su Museo y Archivo Histórico invitan a conocer la pieza del mes, que será exhibida hasta el próximo 31 de mayo.

La pieza del mes es una sección del sitio web de Lux non occidat: Museo y Archivo Histórico que presenta información relacionada con piezas destacadas de la colección y su importancia en el contexto social, político, económico y cultural del país y en la historia de la Universidad.

Para este mes, la pieza escogida fue la Bandera de la Humareda, en la que fue envuelto el cadáver del dirigente liberal Daniel Hernández en aquella batalla, ocurrida el 17 de junio de 1885. Esta contienda fue la antesala para formalizar el proyecto constitucional de la Regeneración, liderado por Rafael Núñez.

The Lux Non Occidat Exhibit of the Month: La Bandera de la Humareda (the Smoke Flag)

Universidad Externado de Colombia and its Museum and Historical Archive invite everyone to see the piece of the month being exhibited until 31 May 2022.

The exhibit of the month appears on the Lux Non Occidat: Museum and Historical Archive web page, which presents information about the featured pieces of the collection and their importance within the social, political, economic, and cultural context of the country and the University’s history.

This month, the chosen piece was la Bandera de la Humareda (the Smoke Flag), in which the body of the liberal leader, Daniel Hernández, was wrapped in the Humareda battle, which occurred on 17 June 1885. This conflict was the prelude to formalising the Regeneration constitutional project, led by Rafael Núñez.

You are invited to visit the Lux Non Occidat: Museum and Historical Archives on the following days and times:

  • Mondays: 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (last admission 4:40 p.m.)
  • Tuesdays: Closed
  • Wednesdays: 9:30 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. (last admission 4:40 p.m.)
  • Thursdays: 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (last admission 4:40 p.m.)
  • Fridays: 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (last admission 4:40 p.m.)
  • Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank holidays: Closed
