Sectoral technical standards in sustainable tourism
Sectoral Unit for Sustainable Tourism Standardization
Since June 2005, the Universidad Externado de Colombia was designated by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, through an agreement signed with ICONTEC, as the coordinating entity of the Sectoral Unit for Sustainable Tourism Standardization, which has defined two areas of action:
The Tourism and Society Research Group leads the Sustainable Tourism Sector Unit, in which the Sectorial Technical Standards for the sector are designed and which, as established by Law 1558 of 2012, become mandatory for service providers Therefore, these instruments promote the approach of sustainable development and social responsibility in our sector.
